Prólogo - Prologue

                Por medio de este blog hemos querido reflejar de algún modo a través de las palabras de Agustina el camino transitado en algunas etapas de su vida que dan un cabal testimonio de que se pueden lograr objetivos, metas más allá  de las dificultades diarias que presenta el síndrome de Alstrom. La clave de ello fue un gran esfuerzo de su parte, un acompañamiento incondicional de su padre Oscar Silva, su hermana  Verónica,  atenta a sus necesidades y también transitando junto a ella en forma silenciosa,  su tío el Profesor Carlos Martens a quien ella consideraba su segundo padre, familiares y amigos.

Si bien el camino recorrido ha sido muy difícil, Agustina ha logrado con su dedicación y constancia terminar una carrera universitaria si bien ya no se encuentra entre nosotros hoy no  estamos muy lejos de obtener un diploma de Licenciada en Psicología Post Mortem y en éste camino se percibe su presencia, su alegría y su risa contagiosa por haber cosechado todo aquello que fue sembrado   y que no es más ni menos que una satisfacción, una realización un cierre de su vida teniendo en cuenta el progresivo deterioro físico y vislumbrando que el tiempo tornaría ilusorio la obtención de su  título.

Es por ello que luego de su fallecimiento consideramos importante poder compartir no solo la dedicación de Agustina en el entendimiento que trascendía más allá de lo personal,  siendo importante testimoniar sus méritos, responsabilidad y el sentido social de sus actos que están íntimamente ligados a su honor, a su dignidad y a  un  merecido  un reconocimiento aún cuando ya no esté.

With this blog, written in Agustina’s own words, we want to reflect her journey through different stages of her life, a full testimony that goals can be achieved no matter the daily difficulties posed by Alstrom syndrome. The key to this was the great effort made by Agustina, as well as the unconditional support of her father Oscar Silva, her sister Veronica, attentive to her needs and silently going through this journey beside her sister, her uncle, professor Carlos Martens, who she considered her second father, her family, and her friends.

 

Though the road was very hard, through her dedication and perseverance Agustina finished her university degree, and though she is no longer with us today, we are close to obtaining her post-mortem diploma as a graduate of Psychology. Through this journey we feel her presence, her joy, her contagious laughter for having achieved all that she had worked so hard to obtain, all that meant a sense of satisfaction and of accomplishment in her last days, despite the progressive physical toll of her illness that made it seem like getting her degree would be beyond her reach.

 

For this reason, we think that after her passing it’s important for us to be able to share not only Agustina’s dedication and her insight that saw beyond herself, but also to give testimony of her merits, her responsibility, and the social lens of her actions, closely tied to her sense of honor and dignity, and her deserved recognition, even after she’s gone.
